Truth Be Told

By Abel Udoekene

I wish this letter will get to my Children,
and print my love on their heart
so that while they leave,
They will be kind and seek after wisdom.

I wish our children could understand humility
and refrain from anything that promotes nudity,
So that when they smile,
They will smile with style.

I wish love can just be our only language,
and maybe hate will forget about us,
So that when we speak
forgiveness will be our second name.

I wish we can always acknowledge our fault
and accept the blame where necessary,
So that when people talk about us,
They will see the responsibility in us

I wish my bride is out there listening to me,
and maybe preparing to dance to my song,
so that when I sing the first note,
she will show the whole World our sunshine.

I wish you can understand my lines,
and translate it to suit your style,
so that when you see my writings,
You can share it without any hesitation.
