Alexis Sanchez’s behaviour at Manchester United is causing concern among the coaching staff, reports say. The Chilean joined United from Arsenal in January, but has struggled to fit into Jose Mourinho’s side since his arrival.
Ten appearances have yielded just the one goal from Sanchez and United staff are worried the forward’s attitude hints he regrets his January switch. MORE: FOOTBALL
The Daily Mail claim Sanchez cuts an isolated, miserable figure at Carrington and often eats by himself in the canteen, away from his team-mates. Sanchez has developed a reputation as a withdrawn and often grumpy player among his new team-mates and there are fears he is increasingly isolating himself from his fellow Red Devils.
The Chilean is currently away on international duty in South America and will not return to Manchester until the end of the month.
United have been alarmed by Sanchez’s slow start and his attitude has sparked concerns the goalscorer could become the next Angel Di Maria. Sanchez is the club’s highest earner and pockets £600,000 a week, with the wage packet reportedly one of the main reasons the former Gunner chose United over Manchester City. Mourinho demoted Sanchez to the bench for United’s FA Cup quarter-final victory over Brighton on Saturday after a woeful individual performance against Sevilla last week.
