Real Madrid midfielder Isco is willing to reject Manchester United and Arsenal as he is keen on a move to Manchester City this summer, according to reports. The 25-year-old only signed a new contract in September which keeps him at Madrid until 2022 and includes a €700 million (£614m) release clause.
But The Sun reports that Isco is open to leaving Real Madrid at the end of the season as he believes his playing time could be cut at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Spain international has started 25 games in all competitions this season but Madrid’s hierarchy are looking to sign new attacking reinforcements after their disappointing La Liga campaign this season.
The report claims that both Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in signing Isco, but the player’s first-choice destination is Manchester City where he will play under Pep Guardiola.
It’s claimed that one of Isco’s key requirements is to join a club who have a realistic chance of winning the Champions League. ‘The club have been after Isco for a while but he has always turned down moves at the final hurdle,’ a source at City told The Sun.
‘He wants to play under Pep by all accounts. ‘Everyone knows Real want to add new attacking talent and he could be one that goes.’
