A Manchester United fan has provided an explanation for Paul Pogba dabbing after a memorial service for victims of the Munich air disaster on the 60th anniversary of the tragic event, after the France international was accused of being disrespectful on social media.
Jose Mourinho and his squad were joined by more than 4,500 fans at Old Trafford, to pay their respects to those who lost their lives in the tragedy. An image surfaced of Pogba dabbing immediately after the gathering, with some accusing him of not showing the fallen Manchester United stars the respect they deserved. However, Manchester United fan Jon Neild has cleared up exactly what happened.
After attending the service, Mr Neild and his disabled son Alex tried went to greet the players as the left the stadium. And while Pogba did dab, he was doing so to make Alex’s day – responding to the 10-year-old’s own dab in his wheelchair.
‘I was really disappointed when I saw what people were saying but it doesn’t surprise me because there are so many haters and negative people on the internet,’ Mr Neild told Manchester Evening News.
‘All the kids love dabbing and Alex was dabbing like crazy at Pogba and then then he did it back to him which was great.

‘It was quite quick the whole thing but they came over and asked how Alex was especially with it being so cold then they had to go.
‘It was so nice of them both and really made Alex’s day.’ Mr Neild uploaded the video onto Twitter to end claims that Pogba had been disrespectful, and criticised those trying to paint the 24-year-old in a bad light. ‘
”I know he’s (an Arsenal fan account) deleted the tweet but it really did show the bad side of the internet,’ he added. ‘When I heard what was being suggested I wanted to tweet the full video to show what really happened.’
