A Poem For The Ex

I saw you, I smiled
You wanted to know me, I was friendly.
You seemed presentable and intelligent…
I said I won’t fall But I lied
You saw my flaws…you tried

Ï saw a friend in you
You seemed perfect and true
Ï was tripping
It was growing, I tried to undo
This time I was falling
You saw it and you nurtured it

Unafraid, I fell helplessly
You tuned my heart to your beat
Together forever it all seemed
Your touch could ignite my flames
Your echoes were my melody
I hoped it was not a dream

Like a flash of insight
You became unloving
Like the settings of the sun
You was fading
My fears were realising
Ï hoped it was a trance…
But roads were taking a new turn
Ï wondered; what is my offense ?
Adieu! Was it.

Bitter, shattered
Ï moved on, without love, without you
Picking me up from laughers
You were so hard to eschew
But I did…
Rivers took a new turn
Ï lived, ï was anew

Ï hear you ask of me
Ï hear you say my name
Ï thought you loved the game
But I’m no longer easy to tame
Ï have grown too strong
From your lovely-pain
The beautiful-shame.
