A Letter To The Person Who Was Hurt.

By Abel Udoekene

I have learned to love myself more,
because I’m a victim just like you,
I made mistakes,
I was hurt,
I cried, I complained but I’ve moved on.

I have learned to accept myself more,
because I was a cliché
a shadow of the real me,
a victim of self neglect
and a tragedy to my future self.

I have learned to trust myself more,
because my softness was like a weakness,
they could break me easily,
mend me easily
and trash me easily.

Listen carefully,
this is very important,
Keep your head high
allow the tears to flows,
Purge out past hurt and bad memories
but never forget this,
they don’t deserve to be the title of your story.
