Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is personally targeting a move for Inter striker Mauro Icardi, according to reports. Maurizio Sarri is keen for the club to sign a new striker during the January transfer window, while Alvaro Morata is looking to leave Stamford Bridge.
Bournemouth forward Callum Wilson is on Chelsea’s shortlist as a potential new signing this month. But according to the Daily Mirror, Abramovich is keen on bringing Icardi to Stamford Bridge.
The Argentina international has been in sublime form for Inter this season with 13 goals in 22 appearances so far.
Inter are desperate for the 25-year-old to sign a new contract as he has a €100 million (£90m) release clause in his current deal. Chelsea also face competition from Real Madrid for Icardi.
